• Overall visitor expenditure was £1.49billion, up by 8% on 2024  
• The number of  FTE jobs supported by tourism is 14,069 up by 2% on 2024

Performance in Durham City

• 4.71 million people visited in 2025, up by 1.7% on 2024
• Overall visitor expenditure was at £339.88 million, up by 5.6% on 2024
• The number of FTE jobs supported by tourism is 3,107, up by 0.3% on 2024

Performance in the Durham Coast

• 3.6 million people visited in 2025, up by 2% on 2024
• Overall visitor expenditure was at £221.07 million, up by 7.1% on 2024
• The number of FTE jobs supported by tourism is 1,974, up by 1.7% on 2024

Performance in the Durham Dales

• 3 million people visited in 2025, up by 2.7% on 2024          
• Overall visitor expenditure was at £305 million, up by 14.1% on 2024
• The number of FTE jobs supported by tourism is 3,124 up by 5.4% on 2024

Performance in the Vale of Durham

• 10.7 million people visited in 2025, up by 1.8% on 2024           
• Overall visitor expenditure was at £622.84 million, up by 6.9% on 2024
• The number of FTE jobs supported by tourism is 5,864, up by 1.3% on 2024
