• 21.56 million people visited in 2024, up by 7% on 2023
• Overall visitor expenditure was £1.38 billion, up by 11.7% on 2023   
• The number of  FTE jobs supported by tourism is 13,795 up by 4.7% on 2023

Performance in Durham City

• 4.6 million people visited in 2024, up by 4.7% on 2023
• Overall visitor expenditure was at £321.81 million, up by 6.2% on 2023
• The number of FTE jobs supported by tourism is 3,099, the same as 2023

Performance in the Durham Coast

• 3.5 million people visited in 2024, up by 7.3% on 2023
• Overall visitor expenditure was at £206.45 million, up by 16.1% on 2023
• The number of FTE jobs supported by tourism is 1,942, up by 8.5% on 2023

• 2.9 million people visited in 2024, up by 7.1% on 2023           
• Overall visitor expenditure was at £267.35 million, up by 11.3% on 2023
• The number of FTE jobs supported by tourism is 2,963, up by 5.1% on 2023

• 10.5 million people visited in 2024, up by 7.2% on 2023             
• Overall visitor expenditure was at £582.58 million, up by 12% on 2023
• The number of FTE jobs supported by tourism is 5,790, up by 5.8% on 2023
