Over the last 20 years, Visit County Durham has provided strategic leadership that recognises the importance of the visitor economy, positioning tourism as a catalyst for regeneration rather than a standalone activity. We have helped demonstrate how a strong destination contributes to business confidence, skills development and the attractiveness of the county as a place to live, work and invest. Through our work, tourism is recognised as a serious economic contributor and an integral part of County Durham’s long-term prosperity.
