Reed in Partnership

Reed in Partnership provides the Restart Scheme in County Durham.

The Restart Scheme is a support service for long-term unemployed jobseekers. The service gives Universal Credit claimants who are out of work enhanced support to find jobs in their local area. Jobseekers who fit the eligibility criteria receive up to 12 months of intensive personal support to help them break down their barriers to work and secure sustained employment.

Each jobseeker receives personal support from an expert Employment Adviser to develop an effective plan to start working. Their plan might contain a range of support options, including skills development training, specialist health and wellbeing support, funding for job searching, self-employment advice and referral to local community services.

We are always looking to expand our local partnerships to ensure jobseekers have access to a wide range of provision in County Durham. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss this with us.

Additionally, we are keen to talk with employers of all sizes and sectors to find ways to support their recruitment needs. Jobseekers using the Restart Scheme are often just looking for the right opportunity – if your business could benefit from dedicated, socially beneficial recruitment support then please do get in touch.

The Restart Scheme is commissioned by the Department for Work and Pensions. Jobseekers are referred to the service by Jobcentre Plus.
