Seaham Hall shortlisted for prestigious AA Spa Hotel of the Year award
Seaham Hall, the five-star luxury hotel and spa based in County Durham, has been shortlisted in the AA Spa and Hospitality Awards.
Seaham Hall is one of three finalists in the AA Spa Hotel of the Year category, and is the only hotel in the North East to be shortlisted.
The prestigious accolade is awarded to outstanding examples of spa hotels and recognises hotels that deliver exceptional wellness experiences, outstanding facilities and exemplary service.
The hotel’s award-winning Serenity Spa is highly decorated, having won the AA Best UK Spa award in 2023 and 2024, Spa of the Year (Western Europe & Scandinavia) at the World Spa and Wellness Awards in 2022, and the Spa Team of the Year award at The Boutique Hotelier Awards in the same year.
Earlier this year, the spa’s luxurious zen garden underwent a major transformation following a £1 million investment. Designed around intentional wellbeing, engagement with nature and restorative relaxation, the revitalised zen garden now offers an enhanced experience for guests including two state-of-the-art infinity edge pools, a new cold plunge pool and an extended outdoor deck with firepits, perfectly placed to invite moments of relaxation and uninterrupted views across the landscaped gardens.
Ross Grieve, Managing Director of Seaham Hall said: “It's an honour to be shortlisted in the AA Spa and Hospitality Awards, particularly following the transformation of our outdoor Zen Garden which has been designed with restorative wellbeing at its heart. To be the only spa hotel in the North East shortlisted for the awards is a fantastic achievement and a real testament to our offering and the people behind it who offer an unparalleled experience for our guests day in and day out.”
Category winners will be announced at the AA Hospitality Awards on Monday 21st September 2026.
