Dalton Park launches new sustainable initiatives to enhance shopping experience
Bike storage, e-bike chargers and hydration stations – make your shopping experience greener and even more convenient at Dalton Park.
Dalton Park, the leading outlet shopping destination in the North East, is setting its standards high this summer with three more sustainable initiatives: new bike storage units, an e-bike charger and hydration stations, all free of charge for visitors.
Dalton Park’s customers and the wider community can now expect a greener, more seamless and cost-effective shopping experience at the outlet centre, all on top of outlet discounts at up to 70% off.
Brand-New Bike Storage Hub
Dalton Park has unveiled a brand-new, covered bike storage hub that is available now for visitors to use. Located on the piazza next to Cineworld and with enough room for ten bikes plus four cargo cycles the new storage unit is fully equipped with a cycle repair station and the highest ranked security system.
Solar Powered E-Bike Charger
Dalton Park is also pleased to now offer solar-powered e-bike charging, inviting visitors and the wider community to charge up their bikes in a secure, cost-effective way. Visitors can enjoy browsing Dalton Park’s fantastic range of stores, from Rituals to New Balance, while their bike recharges in a safe location. The e-bike charger is also located in the piazza.
Hydration Stations
This summer, plastic bottles are out and water refill stations are in at Dalton Park, with two new hydration stations that are located adjacent to the customer toilets. Whether you are visiting on a warm summer’s day or need to rehydrate after cycling to the centre, the water bottle refill stations are the perfect on-the-go hydration solution for visitors to get access to free, clean water. Dalton Park is committed to reducing single use plastic, making this new installation the perfect way to encourage visitors to bring their own refillable bottle or to purchase one onsite.
Richard Kaye, Centre Manager at Dalton Park Outlet, commented: “We’re excited to enhance our visitors’ shopping experience even more this summer with further sustainability initiatives at Dalton Park. From encouraging greener and more cost-effective journeys to the centre, to refreshing our visitors during their summer shopping, we are proud to set our standards high.”
These new sustainability developments build on existing sustainable initiatives that Dalton Park’s visitors enjoy, which include:
• An annual tree-planting programme with local schools
• A beach clean-up in partnership with the Marine Conservation Society collecting thousands of discarded items of rubbish
• An onsite Pollinator Park, that fosters vital habitats for bees, butterflies and other pollinators to boost biodiversity in the local area
• The unmissable ‘Dale the Whale’, a plastic bottle recycling installation made with 745 plastic bottles, located next to Guest Services
