City of Culture 2025 Panel Visit

Publication Date: 11th May 2022

The judging panel for UK City of Culture 2025 were welcomed to the county yesterday.

An exciting and immersive timetable of activities was arranged for the judges, including visits to Redhills, the historic home of the Durham Miners' Association; Dawdon on the east coast of the county to meet local people engaged in a community arts project; the Spanish Gallery and No 42 at Bishop Auckland; and Durham City where they explored the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

If County Durham secures the title, it would bring colossal social and economic benefits to the entire region. The winner is due to be announced later this month.

If you haven't already, please back the bid.
