Visit County Durham showcases the county at The Great Yorkshire Show
Visit County Durham was once again flying the flag for the county at this year's Great Yorkshire Show, showcasing everything Durham has to offer to thousands of visitors.
The annual four-day event attracts around 140,000 visitors, making it the UK’s largest agricultural show, and providing an excellent opportunity to promote County Durham to one of its key target markets, with Yorkshire continuing to be an important source of visitors.
Joining Visit County Durham on the Durham stand this year were partners Kynren, Raby Castle and Lumley Castle, who helped inspire visitors to discover the county's heritage, landscapes and exceptional places to stay.
The event brought together people from across the UK and beyond, giving the team the chance to highlight Durham's award-winning attractions, world-class experiences and vibrant tourism offer, while encouraging visitors to plan their next trip to the county.
Michelle Gorman, managing director at Visit County Durham, said: "The Great Yorkshire Show continues to be a valuable opportunity to showcase everything County Durham has to offer. The team spoke to hundreds of people over the four days, sharing ideas for days out, short breaks and longer holidays. It was fantastic to hear how many people already enjoy visiting the county, while also inspiring new audiences to discover everything Durham has to offer."
Alan McKerchar, General Manager at Raby Castle, Park and Gardens, said: "The Great Yorkshire Show is a fantastic opportunity to inspire people to discover everything County Durham has to offer.
