TEDxDurhamUniversity Returns to Durham with Inspiring Line-Up of Global Speakers
Durham, United Kingdom – 2 May 2026 — TEDxDurhamUniversity is set to return on Saturday 2 May 2026 at Redhills Miners Hall, bringing together an exceptional line-up of speakers from academia, industry, and public life for an afternoon of ideas, innovation, and thought-provoking discussion.
Running from 13:00 to 17:00, the independently organised TEDx event will welcome students, professionals, and members of the wider Durham community to explore this year’s theme, centred on the critical challenges and opportunities shaping our world today.
TEDx is a global initiative licensed by TED, dedicated to sharing “ideas worth spreading” through locally organised events. Talks from TEDxDurhamUniversity will be professionally recorded and published on the official TEDx YouTube platform, which reaches a global audience of over 43.8 million subscribers.
This year’s speakers include:
- Ronald de Jonge — Member of the Executive Committee & Head of Public Sector and Defence & Security (Germany & Austria), Sopra Steria
- Marine Tanguy — Founder & CEO of MTArt Agency and leading art innovator
- Aymane Bourhfi — Founder & CEO of Open Oceans Group; Chairman of SailWealth; Founder of Neptune Capital
- Paul Mills — Founder and Fractional Chief Marketing Officer at VCMO
- Zachary Petzel — Lecturer in Social Psychology at Newcastle University
- Ishtiaq Hussain — Assistant Director for Societal Resilience & Strategic Engagement at the Ministry of Housing
- Geetanjali Gangoli — Head of the Sociology Department at Durham University
- Glen Robinson – National Technology Officer at Microsoft UK
Together, they will explore a diverse range of topics including innovation, societal resilience, psychology, leadership, and the future of global systems.
Since its founding in 2015, TEDxDurhamUniversity has grown into one of the region’s leading student-led platforms for intellectual exchange, fostering dialogue between disciplines and connecting local audiences with global perspectives.
