Publication Date: 07th Aug 2025

Kynren – An Epic Tale of England has been recognised in Tripadvisor’s® Travellers’ Choice® Awards for 2025, as its tenth anniversary season continues.

Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Award winners are among the top 10% of listings around the world on Tripadvisor. This latest accolade is one of several awards the blockbuster production has received this year, including ‘Best Event for Groups’ at the Group Leisure & Travel Awards, ‘Tourism Festival or Event of the Year’ and 'Volunteer of the Year' at the North East England Tourism Awards and the first ever ‘Team of the Year Award' in the 2025 Cultural Enterprises Awards.

Anna Warnecke, CEO of Kynren said: “Our passionate and committed team of volunteers are charging ahead in our tenth anniversary season, gaining the recognition and awards that are immensely well deserved for all involved. We’re so proud of the Kynren family.”

As the world’s largest travel guidance platform, Tripadvisor has unparalleled authority with travellers and diners. This award is based on genuine feedback from anyone in the community who has visited and left an authentic, first-hand review on Tripadvisor over a 12-month period, making it a valuable and trustworthy designation of travellers’ favourites.

“Congratulations to Kynren – An Epic Tale of England on its recognition in Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards for 2025,” said Kristen Dalton, President, Tripadvisor. “Ranking among the top percentage of businesses globally means you have made such a memorable impact on your visitors that many of them took time to go online and leave a glowing review about their experience. We hope this recognition continues to drive business to you in 2025 and beyond.”

The 90-minute live action night show in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, needs to be seen to be believed. Set on a seven-and-a-half-acre outdoor stage, the experience starts at sunset and ends in starlight and will be taking place every Saturday night until 13th September.

From Boudicca’s battles with the Romans to two world wars, as well as Vikings, Tudors, Stuarts, Queen Victoria and the Industrial Revolution, Kynren is a real whistlestop tour of 2000 years of history myth and legend. It is a spellbinding, family-friendly experience delivering thrills, shocks, tears, laughs, goosebumps and gasps on a truly cinematic scale, with the 8,000-seater tribune providing panoramic views across the outdoor stage.
